Privacy Policy

PWDnow is built so we have as little to say here as possible: the application is offline-first and zero-knowledge, so your vault, master password, and credentials are never transmitted to us and never touch a PWDnow server.

Last updated: July 2026

What never leaves your device

Your master password, vault contents, credential data, and encryption keys are processed exclusively by the local Rust daemon running on your machine. This website has no access to any of it, at any point, under any circumstance. There is no PWDnow account, no cloud vault, and no server-side copy of your data to lose, subpoena, or breach.

What this website does collect

The pwdnow.com marketing site collects only what you actively choose to submit through the two forms on this site:

Newsletter signup

If you subscribe in the footer, we store the email address you provide so we can send security patch announcements and release notes. Nothing else is attached to it, and it is never sold or shared with third parties.

Feedback & bug reports

The feedback form stores the title, description, and type (bug or feature request) you submit, plus an email address only if you choose to include one for follow-up. This is used solely to triage and respond to your report.

Cookies

This site uses strictly necessary cookies to remember your cookie preference and, where applicable, session isolation. Optional cookies, only set if you accept them in the cookie banner, are used solely to aggregate anonymous bug report diagnostics. We do not run third-party advertising or analytics trackers on this site.

Questions

Since PWDnow is open source, the simplest way to reach the maintainers about privacy questions or a data removal request is to open an issue on the GitHub repository.
